  • Promethazine is an antihistamine. Antihistamines are used to relieve or prevent the symptoms of allergy. Your veterinarian may prescribe this medication for allergic respiratory disease or other allergic disorders.

  • Propantheline is an antimuscarinic drug, which reduces smooth muscle spasm. It is used to treat urinary incontinence due to unstable muscle contraction and it is also used for disorders of the intestines characterised by muscle spasm.

  • Propentofylline increases the blood flow to the heart, muscle, and brain. It is used in older dogs to improve exercise tolerance, dullness and lethargy.

  • Propranolol is used to correct irregular heartbeat. Propranolol decreases the heart's need for blood and oxygen and therefore reduces the amount of work the heart must do.

  • The prostate gland stores sperm after they have been made in the testicles and produces fluid that contains essential nutrients for the sperm. Cancers of the prostate are rare but usually involve the cells that make the fluid.

  • The prostate (commonly mispronounced as "prostrate") is a gland located near the neck of the urinary bladder of male dogs.

  • Pruritus means itching. It is common in many types of skin disorder especially allergic inflammation and parasitic infections.

  • Although often thought to be a teething behaviour, nipping, mouthing and biting in young dogs is often a form of social play. Teething on the other hand, is more likely to involve gnawing or chewing on household objects.

  • Most puppies love to explore and chew, so it is not surprising when a young puppy steals household objects, particularly if they are inherently rewarding.
